Today is Father's Day.But I don't give a nut, to use a nicer word. Some of you will know why. Went Jurong West library to study. Found a copy of 'Fall of Kings' there, the final installment of a trilogy I've been avidly following. ARGH. If only I could have just found it before going to Penang, 'cos I bought myself a copy of the book there. DARN. Coincidentally, met Ying Ming there. We later went to 7-11 to buy beer. :) The joys of being 18. (Only kidding, it was a gift. I am a strict teetotaller whose sole vice is the occasional shandy.) Addiction is painful, but the more painful thing is abstinence. I used to be hooked on SimFarm, that old farm simulation game of the 90s. (The entire thing only takes up less than 10MB.) I had to be weaned off the game when I moved to NZ and was forced to give away the entire library of computer games to my cousins. Recently, I obtained a copy of the game and I am hooked AGAIN despite a little, insignificant thing called 'A' LEVELS which is hanging over me. As of now, the game is safely locked under password protection (a tip I picked up from Pre U Sem) and the password is only obtainable once I solve a puzzle. My mum is so funny, when she says the weirdest things. Like the other day there was a monster lizard in the house. When she yelled for me to kill it, I went to get my phone instead because it was so big. :O When I snapped this photo, she shrieked, "I asked you to kill it, not make it a film star!" 0.0 Anyway, the lizard got away despite me brandishing a laundry pole. Another day for the hunt, then... The above is high-protein porridge. >:) While we were overseas, rice weevils infested the rice and pasta. I took especial pleasure in tossing them into hot water when we decided instead to just pour all the affected grains into the boiling water. Result: enriched porridge! :) Yummy. My dinner tonight (a bun from Breadtalk) was infested with ants. They'd got stuck in the egg cream and drowned. Lovely. Instead of throwing the whole things away (like a normal person) or picking out the ants (like a sane person), I ate the whole, protein-enriched bun. It wasn't bad, though the ants have a rather weird, acidic taste. Labels: ants, enrichment, protein porridge |
