I'm no longer in my comfy house in Singapore now.

In fact, I'm being harrassed by a crazy, toe-munching dog in my grandma's house in Penang, Malaysia.

Long story.

The overnight bus left yesterday evening from Golden Mile and I SWEAR I SAW PUI YENG there.

The guy in front of me was horrible, he kept playing Paramore with my legs. Since the seats can recline allllll the way, the seat came down, right on my crossed legs. And when it met resistance, he actually bounced the seat on my knees until I put down my bruised legs. So literally Paramore, 'Crushcrushcrush'. And this happened quite a few times, except later on it was more 'Crush' instead of 'Crushcrushcrush' because I'd flatten my legs sharpish once the dreaded seat came down again.

While having to deal with the horrors of Paramore Man, there was the annoying matter of having cold water of condensation dripping on me the whole night. Apparently, there was something wrong with the aircon unit, causing it to be cold enough for condensation to form on the plate. Man, I was thankful it was just that. I woke up and thought the big wet patch on my jacket was drool. (Don't laugh, it could happen to you too.)

Journey aside, I love coming back to Penang. I've been coming back practically every year since before I can remember and that's good. In my life full of changes, at least one thing stays the same.

The food is always a perk. Let me reiterate how much Singaporean food differs from Malaysian food. And no prize for guessing which I think is superior. :) Especially my grandma's homecooked goodies. :)))))

My uncle got a dog! A Shih Tzu which is so darn cute!!! Until my mum mentioned that it enjoyed chewing on people's toes (!) But I don't care. I love animals because:
1) they have no social rules. They do as they please, ettiquette be damned!
2) they are so darn CUTE! (As far as I know, cute humans, especially guys, are hard to find.)
3) what they want is terribly obvious from the look on their faces.
4) they are easy to care for. (Anyone who has been a PA will agree with me here.)
5) they're always there for you, no matter what you've done. (you think Mas Selamat has any human friends with him now?)

Besides the point, I found this book by John Langdon, an artist who specialises in doing ambigrams, or words and phrases which read the same upside down and right way up. Here's some of his work:

The word on top is 'Black' and below is 'White'.

Truth and beauty.

A quote from Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Raven',

Choice.

Right now, the dog's off me and chasing after tidbits. Greedy girl. I got my little cousin to take photos of her for this blog and so.

Happy (the dog's name) and my grandma. My uncle's in the background.

So darn cute.

Okay, any more pics and I'll bore you to death. Since this post is lovely and long, probably be updating a few days later.
