WOOO!!!

Usher session, PW structured rehearsal, M.A.D Camp...over and done. Phew! Though I'm exhausted, I'm supremely satisfied.

I don't think I've had so much non-exam-related stress piled onto me in such a short period of time. Below, the approximate breakdown of my week:

Monday:
School holiday for us, but I still had a PW meeting to practise OP. Stressed out about my speech and the structured rehearsal the next day.

Tuesday:
The rehearsal went smoothly, although Ms. Kim slept throughout the presentation, so no specific error targeting for us. I noticed Rashal was playing Sims 2 on Peng Tiong's laptop while the last PW group was presenting, so once the whole affair was over, I rushed over to watch and to cheer on the frantic and endlessly repeated WooHoo sessions by the pixelated couple. In the end, she had a pair of twins (one boy, one girl) whom we named Rashal and *******. (Name censored to protect myself.) I then rushed off to attend a quick usher meeting for the Westzone Symposium and skipped out early to attend the M.A.D camp facillitator meeting and rushed out immediately after to buy camper gifts from Ikea with Syuhada. I finally reached home like about 10 pm, worn out by lugging 16 glass bottles from Queenstown back to Bukit Batok. Plus, bought a new pair of black shorts for the camp. Oh, and I accomplished all that with a massive blazer and white shirt dangling from the back of my bag.

Wednesday:
Went to school with a bulging backpack full of clothes, a school blazer and white shirt, 16 glass bottles and assorted camp equipment. (Don't ask how I managed it.)Realised in the afternoon, that, despite my carefully laid-out plans, I forgot the facillitator pouches. Syuhada and I conspired to miss the first part of the fac camp to rush out and buy them. Small problem though: I had no idea how many to buy. I knew that more facs had joined the camp just the day before but didn't know the exact number posted to Family 1. We ended up rushing to both the Popular outlets at Jurong East MRT and Jurong Point, and a last return visit to Jurong Point. In the end, after a call to Kin Onn, my assistant family head, we had only 14, not the 16 he had earlier quoted me and after an agonizingly long wait while he ran around asking every single councillor he could possibly find, "How many facillitators in Family 1???" It so happened that we ran into Mr Leow and a few other councillors on our way out of Jurong Point. While Syuhada debated with Mr Leow on the halal status of the ice cream he was offering her and kissing your boyfriend (don't ask). Anyway, the long and short of it is we returned to camp, I got royally pissed off with one of the councillors, watched 'Patch Adams' and retired.

Thursday:
Day 1 of M.A.D camp! I got slowly accustomed to the duties of a family head and got to know all of my facs better. I had a few problems with Rasidin (Raspberry), who challenged me to a fight in the first few minutes of meeting me. I rolled up my sleeves in response and Desmy saw me. Man, she laughed like nobody's business! How embarassing, man. Anyway, the rest of the day went spectacularly well, or as well as it can get when you're an inexperienced family head who also happens to be the only girl in the crowd of guys. Sigh. A few cock-ups here and there with regards to attendance and camper participation, partly my facs' fault, mostly my own. Collapsed on the stairs at night with Desmy and Jowell and couldn't get up until some time later.

Friday:
Day 2: went pretty much the same as Day 1 did. The facs got told off by the teachers, we put on our brave smiles for the campers' sake, even though we were all feeling the strain and we partied away. I ended up pole-dancing and 'kissing' my assistant family head, thanks to those games we played during family time. Escaped from the hall during the fitness talk with the excuse of a family head briefing and slacked outside for about five mintes or so. By the time M.A.D night swung by, I was exhausted but still managed to muster the energy for mass dance, Family 1 & 2 performance, song-singing, the talk to my LG afterwards and the multiple time I jogged here and there in the pitch-black school. Actually, the thing that made it all worthwhile that night was seeing the love in my campers' faces when they looked at me and my facs, especially when my dear boyboy, Wei Ting, called me Mama. Topped it all off with a late-night finishing camper gifts... with love, of course.

Saturday:
The mood was a lot lighter since it was the last day of camp already. Everyone was pushing themselves to the limit because they were anticipating going home a few brief hours from then to collapse. I went emo, particularly during E-Web when I suddenly burst forth with this flow of words. I guess most if it came from my dear Xinyi during O1 when I was a camper and she was my OGL. In summary, we broke camp and I lingered for a while, joining the Yunnan planning comm to do mass dance. I REALLY wanted to drop dead from exhaustion at that moment but somehow found the strength to do Chori Chori with my customary exuberance. Almost lost my wallet when I foolishly mixed it up with the trash and ended up fishing it out of the rubbish bin. (Yes, one of my blonde moments.)

That's my week on summary, actually. I will document the events of this week as soon as I get the time.
