Now that all the emo has poured out, time for the interesting stuff.I really should be mugging for promos now like every good JJ student out there but I'm busy blogging right now. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY, haha. Things I have to do this weekend: 1)Finish physical Chem worksheet 2)Mind map Photosynthesis for SPA and promos 3)Do the two Maths papers 4)Learn APGP, Sigma notation ONCE AND FOR ALL 5)Finish up Malay essay And on top of that, I'm going out tonight to meet Hoi Yee so I can get back my Bio research (a joint effort with Yan Hoon) and get some more AJ Bio notes. Ugh, got to dig up the old ones I have and mug. Yesterday, I was also supposed to mug in school but ended up going for the Oktoberfest. Peng Tiong invited me to come to yesterday night's JJ Midautumn Festival celebrations but I turned him down. He really looks cute when he's disappointed, haha. But I did manage to stay for about a hour and a half with Cherie, Hema, Hui Shin, Zhe Yuan and Glennda, trying to understand DNA. Cherie, incidentally was quite upset, the reasons are not appropriate to mention here. If you're reading this, don't get too upset about it, OK? And I'm glad that you managed to find your jacket. ![]() Hui Shin advertises a book for me. ![]() Yu Feng and a furry friend, outside school. The Oktoberfest is this Swiss-German festival held every year in Singapore by Swiss-German expatriates. Lots and lots of traditional German food is served and there is a never-ending flow of, yup, you guessed it, beer. I didn't think much of the beer because I don't drink but the food was INCREDIBLE. ![]() An entire roast ox for dinner. The main centrepiece of the dinner was this ox. All night, chefs in white hats kept carving bits from it and eventually, they whipped out this massive carving knife and a nasty-looking meat fork and hacked off an entire ribcage so that they could carry on with their delicate carving. ![]() Look at the amount and variety of meat served. There was lots of other stuff like special bread, goulash, salad, apple strudel and borscht but the meat was definitely the main attraction. There was live entertainment too, a brass band from Germany playing traditional airs with the committee members of the Swiss Club sitting in. They kept playing this special beer chant now and then and (ang moh) members of the audience would lift up their mugs of beer and respond. It was the German version of JJ's water parade, except this one had live music and alcohol. Anyway, I got stuffed, went home and watched TV instead of studying some more. Apparently, my motivation to study bought a one-way ticket to Antartica, packed up and left. Labels: food, oktoberfest, school |
